Design Thesis
There is no doubt the auto-pilot technology will change the landscape of infrastructure in the coming future. What are the opportunities for human experiences in the ways of traveling? The project TUBE explores a new way of traveling made possible by automation and synchronization technologies: a technomad (a made-up word) lifestyle.
When auto-piloting takes over human labors, drivers will become operators or dispatchers behind screens in a control room. The efficiency of the ground transportation will be maximized by live synchronization and blockchain technology. Without the restraints of human attention, human activities in those transport vehicles can have endless possibilities.

Operational Logic
TUBE provides a new system combining transportation and accommodation together, forming a network of mobile hotel rooms or mobile apartments for temporary rental. Users can order a customized TUBE mobile room on their phones for scheduled pick-up, or check in at TUBE dispatching facility using their digital devices. Without worrying about late night travels, users can have a good rest while en route, while having the complete privacy one cannot get by flying on a plane. Users can also change their destination or edit their rental reservation at any time.

THE TUBE SYSTEM
The back of the TUBE dispatching center is the storage and conveyor system of the TUBE modules, orderly sorting them into the storage deck for future uses. Skybridges connect the storage system in the back with the onboarding system in the front, a place where customers check in to their reserved modules while the modules temporarily rest on the building facade before the customers decide to hit on the road.
